Raffaele Calace, mandolin player, composer and luthier, is a notable figure in the mandolin world.
As well as producing the famous Calace Mandolin Method, he composed around 200 works, some of which are considered to be the most technically demanding works written for the mandolin.
Both he and his brother Nicola were excellent instrument makers of the Neapolitan mandolin. The Calace family continues this tradition today.
