English mandolinist Hugo D'Alton, whose students included Alison Stephens and Sue Flower, with Igor Stravinsky. The picture was taken during a rehearsal for a concert of Stravinsky's own music at the Festival Hall in 1958.

According to one of his former students, Hugo died in about 1995.

I used to go out with Hugo's son Brian. Would love to get in touch. I also knew his son Michael and was friendly with his wife Micky. I was Pat Brady

Hugo lived at the top of my road in NW London. This would be about 1960. I had sung in my school choir, and was interested in classical music. Leave a Reply. |
